Windows Live Writer is not cooperation and neither is ScribeFire.  This has become a project for me that I intend to solve today or dissolve the Movable Type usage of this URL.

RSS Reader Explained

This link in VideoJug is the clearest explanation of RSS readers I have seen.

What impressed me most was the "Be Careful, it's addictive." line. That is a fact, Jack!!!

Quicknote 5.4 Retro That Works

| | Comments (0)
You can find information about Quicknote 5.4 at this site.  There are many "postit" programs out there, I've tried many of the them and discarded them due to clumsy interface.  This is because mostly by the authors attempt to recreate the manner of post-it notes, rather then the purpose.

Quicknote is intelligently compiled, with less emphasis on how it looks than how it works.  There is a short learning curve easily surmounted by watching the videos available.  Once I learned it and customized it, it has already become second nature for me to use it in creating this blog entry.

Take the time to find out all it does, because it is a modest interface with a powerful right click menu.  The good news is the interface is easily modified to fit your taste.  The green background and gray border have quickly been changed to dark blue with white print and a translucent border.  I missed the blue background white print of the original DOS editors.

Five Stars in all reviews.

The Telegraph as an online article saying The Queen will soon be older than Victoria was when she died. This will make her the oldest ever monarch, king or queen.  She still has a way to go to get the longest reign record.  They say she will have to live to 2015 to accomplish that.  Considering how old her mother was when she died, I wouldn't take odds on The Queen not breaking that record as well.

Along in the piece it says 11 Prime Ministers have served under her.  The first being Sir Winston Churchill KG OM CH TD FRS PC (Can).  It also goes on to say, nice bit of trivia this, she is the first monarch to have a PM that was born during her reign.

This living history so far has been fascinating.  She wasn't yet Queen when I was born.

It was a matter of only putting the host with out the subdirectory in which Movable Type resides. Each one of these editors have their own little idiosyncrasies. This is the newer version of w::bloggar. If you go to the site you will see there is still work being done on the program. I am so glad to see a program supported by a dedicated author. -30-

Zoundry Yes-w::bloggar No

| | Comments (0)

We were able to get Zoundry to configure the editor to work with the Open Source version of Movable Type with no problem. It wasn't working before because of the layered password mystery that is now solved.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about w::bloggar. There we encountered one error after another. It is sad, because w::bloggar was the first offline editor that we used.

Oh well. Now it's back to watching the rain glaze the snow dumped on us last night. It's a good thing, weather commuting wise, this is a Sunday. We're watching the Pats game from home. (Assuming the wires don't come down with the weight of the ice building up.)

This will be the last editor to be configured to work with Movable Grazing. Now that they are set up, this will become a regular blog in search of a theme. Evolution will now apply rather that configuration.

Movable Grazing is born

| | Comments (0)
Now that Movable Type is open source, we have loaded it onto our GoDaddy server with the hope this becomes one of the active Famous Grazing blogs.  The base Famous Grazing blog is Belltower News.  Read the entries there that go back to 2004 to get an idea of what Famous Grazing is all about.

For now we have to setup and design this blog to make it our own.

If you are going to set up a MovableType blog on GoDaddy.com read today's entry at Belltowernews.com to find out why "localhost" doesn't cut it during the set up.
